Osho Chakra Breathing Meditation

If you would like to really feel you chakras, this meditation is for you. Osho says that knowledge of chakras is not enough, one has to feel them, experience them, only then it is worth it. This meditation will give you an opportunity to experience all your 7 major chakras that are connected to your major endocrine glands in the physical body. Chakras are part of the invisible body & connect our soul with our physical body. By doing this meditation one can clean the energy body that brings vitality to the physical body & you will feel more alive, refreshed & much more energized. Yogis say that any disease first appear on the level of the energy body & then enter the physical body much later on. Through this meditation you can work through your energy body & bring more life to your physical body.

Below are the 7 major chakras in the body from the bottom of the spine until the top of your head:

  1. Base Chakra : At the bottom of the spine
  2. Sacral Chakra: 2 inches below the navel
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra: The bottom points where both our lungs join each other
  4. Heart Chakra: In the middle of the chest area
  5. Throat Chakra: In the middle of the throat
  6. 3rd Eye Chakra: Between the 2 eyebrows
  7. Crown Chakra: The top of the head

This meditation is best done with empty stomach & can be done anytime during the day & is supported by the specific audio recording of OSHO Chakra Breathing Meditation music.

Osho Chakra Breathing Meditation


OSHO Chakra Breathing Meditation has 2 stages & is 60 minutes long.

Below are the two different instructions.

First one: This is from the source “Osho International Meditation Resort, Pune”



Second one: This is from my experience of doing this meditation by myself for few months/days:

First Stage: 45 Minutes – Eyes Closed

Standing: In this stage as the music began, stand straight, keeping your feet 6-8 inches wide apart, keeping your whole body loose & relaxed. Keeping your mouth start inhaling & exhaling breath with equal speed. Let the breath be deep & rapid. As you would be breathing become aware of your first chakra & go on breathing into that chakra. As the bell would ring, move up onto the next chakra, while increasing your breath speed gradually. Continue breathing like this & with each bell & the change in music move upwards to the next chakra until you reach the 7th & the final chakra.

Once you reach the final chakra, after breathing into it for few minutes, you would hear 3 gong beats. After 3 gong beats, start coming down while breathing into each chakra to the base chakra & relax & wait for the next round. One round is of 15 minutes & there will be total 3 rounds of 15 minutes each.

During this process keep your body relax & free. You can move your body while keep on standing at the same spot, any movement that support breathing in & our deeply & rapidly. Even when you move your body, your awareness should remain on the sensation, experience of the chakras. Do not push the breath to move out of your mouth, it should remain effortless & relaxed.


Second Stage: 15 Minutes – Eyes Closed

Sitting: In this stage the music will stop & you just sit down at the same spot. Keep your body still & just remain a witness of whatever is happening inside your body mind.
